Every part of the "At Ease" is related to a beat.

• The "At Ease" signal is 4 beats in duration involving one half note and two quarter notes:

                        2.  On beat 1 following the command, the left  foot slides out to the left to land at "shoulder width apart".

                        3.  The band member remains quite, but is slightly relaxed.
